Our Easter Sunday Arts & Crafts Market went off without a hitch, even the weather improved for the day and there was plenty of sunshine on offer, even if it was a little chilly. The atmosphere was great with Musicians from Whirligig playing through the day and Pitmans Farm providing hot food in the form of a delicious Hog Roast. This was our third Easter Market and with a little help from the weather and a lot of help from the stallholders I think this was our best Easter Market Yet! Many thanks once again to all.

Well I’d like to say we are enjoying lovely long August days dipping our toes into the water and drinking Pina Coladas but this being Devon and the school holidays, summer is doing what it normally does and its either raining or really windy here! But we are not discouraged its still beautiful in Cove whatever the weather! I hate to mention autumn but the leaves are definitely starting to change colour here, so with that in mind if you are thinking of the new term ahead and are wondering whether to join a class at night school or learn a new skill I will be offering 1 to 1 tuition in copper foiling this autumn. If you’ve fancied having a go I will show you how to cut glass and then assemble a panel or large sun catcher to take home with you. Get in touch for a chat or email for details.
Talking of copper foiling I recently made a snowdrop for a shepherds hut. The very nice people I made it for have sent me the images of it fitted in and it looks fantastic. They are a company called ‘Dods of London’ and they will have a stand at the National Gardening Show at the Bath and West Showground in September if you want to have a look at it. They restore shepherds huts and gypsy caravans to a very high standard and I want one! Will link onto their site when its up and running but here is what they look like below!

Well its another snow day here in Devon so its time to sit in the warm and update the blog! Have finally made a kingfisher, its really hard to recreate the amazing flash of blue but I think its worked quite well. He is hanging in the shop window ready for someone to take him home and enjoy!

Kingfisher
Thinking of our feathered friends during this never ending winter we have just received a delivery of Gardman bird care and sundries. We have a selection of feeders, seeds and nuts, everything you need to keep them happy. We also have a selection of sundries to keep the gardener happy including some thermometer’s in case you want to know what the temperature is (freezing I would say!)
Took delivery of some of Hilary Butlers beautiful glass pendants just in time for Christmas. Also some of her sea-glass and driftwood hangings which are completely unique so if you want a one off piece of art you know where to come! Will take some photos to upload on here but examples of her work are already on this website. Am just waiting for a sunny day to take some photos in the right light, the weatherman says that sun is coming but I’ll believe that when I see its hardly stopped raining since we’ve got here! Kingfisher alert saw him this morning, he is definitely inspiring me to make a piece of leaded glass for the craft shop!
