Sarah Ravens Seeds

By Helen, 02/11/2012 2:46 pm

Just a reminder that we are now stocking seeds selected by Sarah Raven to create your perfect bee and butterfly garden.  Her recent BBC TV programme ‘Bees, Butterflies and Blooms’ highlights the decline in pollinating insects and her campaign to encourage more bee and butterfly friendly gardens and we at Cove Garden Nursery are right behind her!

Sarah Ravens Seeds

A varied selection of beautiful blooms are available to be sown all year round,  including some wild flowers such as Yellow Rattle which has been much requested this year.

Sarah Ravens Seeds will compliment our extensive range of Kings Seeds  so we are bound to have something to tempt all gardeners!

Butterfly & Verbena

New stock has arrived this week. This range of seeds has been specially selected by Sarah Raven whose BBC programs on gardening for bees and butterflies have attracted a huge amount of interest. The idea of this range is to enable the creation of beautiful gardens that will attract and feed pollinating insects throughout the season. After this summer these insects could doo with all the help they can get so here’s a chance to help them and have a beautiful garden too!

Its that time of the year again, the Mid Devon show is upon us!  Here is a sneak preview of our stand, the  theme this year is ‘Seed to Feed’, it’s always a challenge to come up with new ideas and beautiful plants but think it looks OK, in fact the whole marquee is looking very colourful with the Tiverton Flower Club floral arrangements and the display put on by Tiverton Garden Club.  There is plenty to do at the show, a packed craft marquee and of course all the usual fur and feather and rural skills.  So come in and see us!

By Helen, 16/07/2011 1:19 pm

Well midsummer has been and gone and the rush for bedding and basket plants has slowed down.  We still have some hanging baskets left so if you haven’t done them yet come and see us, they are looking beautiful!

We are also getting ready for the Mid Devon show next weekend which we are hoping will be as successful as last year.  Its a real chance for us to get creative with the plants and do something different!  We will be in the Flower and Garden Marquee again so come and see us!  Joolz of Wicked Willows will be there too and she has created something spectacular!  I have posted last years display below.

Other news:   at some point this summer we might be able to barbeque so let me remind you that we stock the amazing Bulworthy Project charcoal which is made locally,  its the best charcoal ever, no chemicals and burns really well.  Also if you are noticing bare patches on your lawn but don’t want to buy a whole box of grass seed we now sell loose practical lawn seed from Kings seeds, so if you just want a handful come and see us!  One last thing!  We now have our own Facebook page so search for Cove Garden Nursery and come and like us!
