Festive Times

By Paul, 24/12/2016 9:59 am

The Nursery will be closed from lunch time Christmas Eve and then will be closed until the 2nd of January 2017. When we come back in January we can look forward to the start of another season! Early January will see the arrival of Seed potatoes and summer flowering bulbs such as Dahlias, Gladioli and Lilies. We continue to offer a great range of flower & vegetable seed from Kings Seeds and Sarah Raven Collections and World Kitchen seeds from Johnsons.  There will also be a January sale and I’ll post more details of that once we’ve decided what is going to be in it!

Have a great time over the festive period and we look forward to hearing about all your great plans for your gardens in 2017.

Devon Grown Christmas Trees

By Paul, 04/12/2016 12:48 pm

Our selection of fresh-cut, Devon grown Christmas trees are now available. And there are, as usual a great selection of either Norman Fir (non-drop) or Traditional Norway Spruce to choose from. Being Devon grown means that they are super fresh having not been transported large distances crammed tightly into crates. Their quality and freshness means that they will last well through the festive period! To get the best from them we recommend cutting 3cm off the bottom and standing in a bucket of clean water for 24 hours before bring into the house. Trees will also last best if the stand used to display them holds water too. Remember to top it up regularly but be careful of water near any electrics!

We also have a selection of pot grown Christmas trees for those who want a smaller tree that they can plant out in the garden after the festive season. Don’t leave it too late, if you like we can look after your chosen tree until you are ready to take it. We are also able to deliver trees locally, contact us for details.

Sledges – Product Tested

By Paul, 18/01/2013 11:31 am

Red Sledges are the Fastest!!!

Continuing our policy of only selling products we would use ourselves, we have now had the chance to test out our sledges with this mornings snow!! This batch of snow might not last long but there is more cold weather forecast so be prepared. We also have Snow Shovels and Rock Salt but the sledges are definitely more fun! Also don’t forget the birds. They will need feeding more than ever during this cold weather.
