Mid Devon Show 23rd July!

By Helen, 16/07/2011 1:19 pm

Well midsummer has been and gone and the rush for bedding and basket plants has slowed down.  We still have some hanging baskets left so if you haven’t done them yet come and see us, they are looking beautiful!

We are also getting ready for the Mid Devon show next weekend which we are hoping will be as successful as last year.  Its a real chance for us to get creative with the plants and do something different!  We will be in the Flower and Garden Marquee again so come and see us!  Joolz of Wicked Willows will be there too and she has created something spectacular!  I have posted last years display below.

Other news:   at some point this summer we might be able to barbeque so let me remind you that we stock the amazing Bulworthy Project charcoal which is made locally,  its the best charcoal ever, no chemicals and burns really well.  Also if you are noticing bare patches on your lawn but don’t want to buy a whole box of grass seed we now sell loose practical lawn seed from Kings seeds, so if you just want a handful come and see us!  One last thing!  We now have our own Facebook page so search for Cove Garden Nursery and come and like us!

Midsummer?!

By Helen, 22/06/2011 10:18 am

We have just had the longest day, Wimbledon has started and Glastonbury Festival starts this weekend, so that means only one thing…RAIN!   Of course we do need it after a very dry spring and it means less outdoor watering for us and it also gives me an excuse to get into my workshop and make some bits and bobs out of glass!   I have made some larger outdoor bunting which is hanging on our Tea Tent (open on fine days!) and would look lovely draped among trees or on a pagoda, perfect for adding a festive touch to a summer Bar-B-Q!  Come and see us or give me a ring if you would like something a bit different for your garden.

I have also been making some etched name hangers so if you are stuck for any gift ideas, get in touch with me for that too, they are ideal for a christening or birthday gift!

If you haven’t yet done your hanging baskets and patio planters we now have 25% off summer bedding, so that means 10 9cm plants including fuschias for £7.50!  Its not too late to do them and for that price you can go mad and create a riot of colours to cheer you on a rainy day!

Buy Baby Bunting!

By Helen, 19/02/2011 6:49 pm

This is some recently made glass bunting that would look  pretty just about anywhere!   I can make them any colour to match your decor and I think they would look really sweet in a little girls bedroom with some fairy lights!   I have added some beads to give them extra sparkle.  These retail at £20 and they can be made to any length.

Union Jack!

By Helen, 15/01/2011 9:33 am

Union Jack

According to my sources there is to be a Royal Wedding this year and the Union Jack is to be the must have accessory!  Coincidentally I have made this copper foiled and glass Union Jack!

This particular piece however is to be auctioned off to raise funds for Project Mobility the charity that supports amputees by adapting  Land Rovers to give them the freedom to live the life we take for granted.  You can find out about them on the eve of their 1st Birthday here:  www.projectmobility4x4.org

I am hoping this will help raise loads of money for them,  if you are unable to bid and would like to commission this piece (other flags available!) get in touch with me!  Also just a reminder that I have been holding 1-2-1 copper foiling workshops here so if you would like to learn a new skill for the new year then drop us a line!
